Gravity Nelson’s Rental and Demo Bike Philosophy is simple: We only want to rent out mountain bikes that we would personally want to ride! At the end of the day, we want you to love riding our mountain bike rentals so much that you will leave raving about it was better than your own bik,e and be inspired to buy a mountain bike from one of the brands we work with. If you are inspired to buy a bike from us after you ride one of our rentals, then we will discount you the rental price off the cost of the bike you buy… so the rental becomes a demo!. We pride ourselves on our rental mountain bike fleet being the highest quality mountain bike rentals available in Nelson with bikes from Santa Cruz, Transition, Evil and Mondraker, the same great brands we sell!
We have both “acoustic” and electric mountain bike models in different sizes and amounts of suspension travel with brakes and suspension set up to your preference, characteristics and riding style. Note, unlike the majority of New Zealand mountain bike rental businesses we DO swap the brakes over to the side you are used to having them! Yes, that is right, it is an interesting little known fact that most European and American and Canadian mountain bike riders are used to having their Left hand be the front brake, whereas in New Zealand, Australia and England mountain bikes are usually set up with the front brake in the right hand. This is an obvious serious safety issue if the brakes are not swapped so that the hand you instinctively use for your back brake isn’t actually the front brake sending you over the handlebars in an emergency!
All our bikes are not only specifically set up for Nelson’s great trails with appropriate tires, tubeless fluid, and Cushcore in the rear, but they are also “Gorge Ready”, so if your own bike isn’t quite up to smashing out a day at the Wairoa Gorge Mountain Bike Park, contact us and beat up one of our mountain bikes instead!
We also include a free helmet and knee protection on request, plus can provide pump, tools and spare inner tube if you need it.
