Plus size wheels have been gaining a lot of traction over 2016 and 2017 has seen a few bikes re-designed to accommodate the mid-fat wheels. The revised Santa Cruz Tallboy is available in 2 grades of carbon and alloy frames with either 29 inch or 27.5 plus wheels.

Dion’s build is the XL Alloy frame built up with a Shimano SLX 2×11 Drivetrain, Raceface AR 40 27.5+ Wheelset and Fox Performance suspension. This bike was put together to make long days exploring the hills much more comfortable and ridable. The 27.5+ tyres provide grip-for-days and the range of the 2×11 drivetrain means there’s a gear for every occasion.
