Evil’s Delta-Link suspension platform (the full name is: DELTA – Dave’s Extra Legitimate Travel Apparatus) is a robust single pivot system developed by Dave Weagle (the man behind the successful DW link). It uses linkage to drive a progressive shock rate which creates a very stable ride and removes the need for over-damped shock systems, keeping things nice and simple. Large bearings on the main pivot also create an incredibly stiff rear end. Details here- https://www.evil-bikes.com/pages/tech
The build pictured is a size small built up for a solid season of enduro racing in Nelson. It is running a 160mm Yari fork to slacken it out slightly without sacrificing too much on the climbs.
It is also set up with a Stans flow mk3/ Sram hub wheelset- Hand built in house. Aimed at being a durable, light and cost effective wheelset, the flow mk3 also provides a good tyre profile and sets up tubeless quickly and easily.
Shimano SLX, the workhorse groupset keeps the pedals turning all season long, with a OneUp oval -narrow wide ring and 11-46 cassette. Shimano zee stoppers for the long and steep Nelson descents, with RT76 ice tech rotors to help manage the heat and deal with brake fade. Again, this group-set is functional and wont break the bank.
Tyres and contact points are very much a personal preference and this build has been kitted with a high roller 2 on the rear and a minion DHF up front. Sensus grips on Renthal bar/Stem combo, SDG saddle and OneUp pedals round out the contact points.
This build is repeatable in any size or with any tweaks to the spec sheet. Pictured set up would run $7499 complete or $3999 frame only. Get in touch if you are interested in us developing your custom dream build.
